Forum: Native-like Brain Processing of Foreign Languages in University Learners

Harriet Wood Bowden, assistant professor of Spanish in the Department of Linguistics, will discuss findings from a study that examined how university foreign-language Spanish learners process different aspects of the language. 


2014 "Water in a Changing Climate" Watershed Symposium

Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Ellington Plant Sciences, Hollingsworth Auditorium
The symposium will feature keynote speaker Thomas Wilbanks, senior scientist and group leader for the Global Change and Developing Countries Programs at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The event will also host a panel discussion with experts on water use in Tennessee and the Southeast.


VolShop Presents Grad Finale

Tuesday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., UC Ballroom
Soon-to-be graduates can purchase everything they need for graduation, including class rings, announcements, caps and gowns, and thank-you cards available. There will be a 20 percent discount on caps and gowns and diploma frames. Photographers will be on hand to take portraits in a provided cap and gown. 


All events are free unless otherwise noted.
