RecycleMania Returns to Campus for Big Competitions and Prizes

RecycleMania returns for its ninth annual competition to promote waste reducation around campus. UT wants to win this year's friendly competition against 423 other schools, including ten SEC schools.  

Learn how your student organization or residence hall can create a team and win prizes through March 29.


Nominate an Outstanding Senior for UT's Highest Student Honor

The Torchbearer award recognizes academic achievement and outstanding commitment to others and their community. Nomination deadline is February 17.

 


Reminders

Design a Charles Darwin-Themed Book Cover for Prizes

Students can compete for prizes for Darwin Day 2014 by designing a cover for The Origin of Species that depicts one of Charles Darwin's ideas. Students may use handmade or digital techniques for the cover; however, recreations of existing covers will be disqualified. Deadline for entries is midnight on February 5. Submit here

Intramural Indoor Soccer and Ultimate Frisbee Registration Open

Registration for the Indoor Soccer League and Ultimate Frisbee League will begin tomorrow. Men's, women's, and coed leagues will be offered for both sports. Registration closes February 10.

Cumberland Trail and State Scenic Trail Volunteers Needed

Help build a new or rehab an old trail on the Cumberland Trail and State Scenic Trail on February 8. Volunteers will meet at the Cumberland Trail park office at 9:00 a.m. for orientation. Work will end by 4:00 p.m. Sign up to serve here.

Welcome Leader Interest Session

Help greet the newest class of Volunteers by serving as a welcome leader for Welcome Week 2014. Leaders will work primarily in August and guide a group of students through Welcome Week activities, including small group discussions and university programs.


Sociology Film Series Presents Citizen Kane

A 1941 American drama co-written, produced and directed by, and starring Orson Welles. Kane, a newspaper publisher living alone in his vast palatial estate for the last years of his life, dies. Kane's death becomes sensational news around the world. News reporter Jerry Thompson tries to find out about Kane's private life. 


Homebound: A Play for Nobody

Friday, 8:00 p.m., Clarence Brown Lab Theatre
Presented by All Campus Theatre, this play tells the story of a young girl's journey to conquer her own mental illness, with the help of her best friend and her counselor.
