The University of Ottawa's School of Information Studies (ESIS) is delighted to announce that its Master of Information Studies program is the newest program to be accredited by the American Library Association (ALA).
Now in its fifth year of operation, the small but dynamic ESIS offers the only bilingual/bicultural (English and French) MIS program in North America, giving its students a competitive advantage for job opportunities both in Canada's National Capital Region and in other communities across the country where services are offered in both official languages. The program also offers an interesting specialization in information policy.

Accreditation was granted by the ALA's Committee on Accreditation at their meeting on January 26, 2014. The next comprehensive review visit is scheduled for autumn 2020.

While the core team at ESIS has worked very hard to achieve this goal, we would also like to thank the members of the wider LIS community, who have offered support, advice and help along the way. Bravo et youpi!!!
