Featured student: Danielle Large

[Danielle Large]Our student this week is Danielle Large, right, a chemical engineering major who accepted an internship at Clean Air Engineering Inc., located in Powell, Tennessee.

Large describes the department she worked in and what her main responsibilities were.

"I worked in the calibration lab throughout my internship at Clean Air," she said. "My responsibilities were primarily to calibrate equipment (pressure transmitters of varying pressure, temperature probes), prepare kits for field work, and assist on field work."

Large enjoyed learning new things about engineering during her internship.

"This assignment showed me an entire side of engineering I would have otherwise never experienced," she said. "My mentor was very helpful and patient in teaching me about the electrical and mechanical aspects of the job. It was an all-around positive experience. I have gained the ability to work independently and approach issues with a problem solving mindset."

Students may read more about their peers' co-op experiences by logging into their Engineering Professional Practice profile via www.coop.utk.edu<http://www.coop.utk.edu>, clicking "Resource Library" (on the left margin) and selecting "Students at Work–In Their Own Words."
