South College in Knoxville, Tennessee is seeking applicants fro the position of Reference Librarian for the west Knoxville campus.

Qualifications:
· Minimum of a master’s degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA accredited program is required.
· Experience in an academic library setting is preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities:
· Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
· Knowledge of current information technologies and basic computer operations.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
· Commitment to patron service.

Job Duties Include:
· Participate in general reference and circulation services, collection development, and library instruction.
· Create bibliographies and submit reports as requested by Head Librarian.
· Perform other related duties as required.

This is a part-time evening and Saturday position. Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.

The First Regional Library Board is hoping to expand the pool of applicants for Director of Libraries so we’ve revised the job description and have also done a promotional piece on Mississippi. I’ve been Youth Services Coordinator here at First Regional for almost eight years (how did that happen???) and must say that I really love working here and am amazed by this part of Mississippi. Our libraries really make a difference, which is, of course, one of the reasons I started in libraries in the first place.
