Subject: MG Advocacy Board vacancy - Central Region
Three Master Gardeners and one Extension Agent represent each region on the Advocacy Board. At the present time, there is a vacancy in the Central Region. Following this year’s Winter School, there will be an additional vacancy.
This is a great opportunity for two Master Gardeners in the Central Region to join the Advocacy Board and experience the program at the regional and state level. The Board plans and conducts Winter School, communicates with UTIA administrators,
and provides leadership for regional Master Gardener Alliance meetings. Advocacy Board members are also available to speak to Master Gardener associations/groups regarding Master Gardener topics.
More information regarding becoming an advocate may be found on the state Master Gardener website. On the home page, select “Master Gardener Resources”, then select “TMG Advocacy Board”. An application may be downloaded from that page.
The website address is http:mastergardener.tennessee.edu
Master Gardener Winter School is scheduled February 20-21, 2014, In Murfreesboro. Program and registration information may be found on the state Master Gardener website. Early registration ends February 10.
