Student Health Center Offers Tips for Avoiding and Treating the Flu

With news about several cases of the flu throughout Tennessee this month, the staff of the Student Health Center wants to remind you of tips for avoiding and helping treat the flu. Take a moment to read over the tips here.

 


Disability Task Force to Develop Ideas for More Accessible Campus

Students Michael Ariale, Lindsay Lee, and Joshua Smith have been selected to sit on the Disability Task Force, where they will work with faculty and staff task force members to develop ideas to enhance accessibility and inclusivity of our campus for people with disabilities.


Microsoft Office ProPlus Now Available for Students

Students are now able to download and install Microsoft Office ProPlus desktop applications at no additional cost because of UT's enterprise agreement with Microsoft.

Student Alumni Associates is looking for new members! The group focuses on building strong ties between students and alumni. Their open house will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Tyson Alumni House.

 


Tennessee Journalist Seeking Writers and Photographers

The Tennessee Journalist, an online news site for UT's School of Journalism, is looking for writers for news, sports, arts and culture, and features, as well as photographers. Interested students do not have to be a journalism major. Tennessee Journalist has meetings every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Communications Building Room 246B.

The English Language Institute is seeking volunteers to serve in its spring Conversation Partners program. Partners meet on a weekly basis with ELI international students to help them practice English conversation.

The event is set to celebrate the life and contributions of Martin Luther King Jr. Mary Frances Berry will be the featured speaker. For over four decades, she has been one of the most recognized and respected voices in our nation's civil rights, gender equality, and social justice agendas. 


Civil Rights Today: The Evolution of Activism

Tuesday, 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., College of Law Room 132
A dynamic panel discussion in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Panelists include Gordon Bonnyman, co-founder, Tennessee Justice Center; Avon Rollins, former director, Beck Cultural Exchange Center; Cassie Watters, union organizer, United Campus Workers; and Estefania Chavez, third-year student at UT College of Law.


BOSS Dance Company Spring Showcase

Friday, 7:30 p.m., Clarence Brown Theatre, $5
The BOSS Dance Company will present its fourth annual spring showcase highlighting tap, hip hop, ballet, modern, contemporary, and jazz dance.
