Undergraduate Summer Research Internships

Apply for an Undergraduate Summer Research Internship, a program promoting research and creative activity among students. All current full-time undergraduate students are eligible. Deadline is February 14.

Intramural Basketball Registration Opens Tomorrow

Registration for the intramural basketball league will begin at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. The three-week regular season starts Sunday, January 26. Contact the Intramural Office with questions.


Teach for America Applications Available

Teach for America (TFA) focuses on closing the achievement gap by recruiting leaders to teach in low-income areas. The next deadline for juniors and seniors to apply is January 24. TFA will show Waiting for Superman, a film analyzing the American public education system, at 7:30 p.m. on January 14 in the UC Shiloh Room 235.

Looking for a way to give back and travel with your fellow Volunteers? Take time now to apply for an Alternative Spring Break trip from March 15 to 23. This program takes diverse groups of students to different communities to perform service-learning projects.

Girls on the Run Coaches Needed

Girls on the Run needs coaches for this spring. GOTR is an after school program for third- through eighth-grade girls, teaching them life skills through interactive lessons and running games. You do not have to be a runner to volunteer.

Letters for Veterans

Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Pedestrian Walkway
Delta Phi Omega Sorority will host Letters for Veterans, where students can write letters to veterans. The letters will then be sent to Operation Gratitude, which will get them in the hands of veterans.


College of Communication & Information Alumni Lunchtime Lecture

Hear from Alan Carmichael and Cynthia Moxley, who run Moxley Carmichael, a Knoxville based public relations firm about integrating social media into a business.

Archaeological Institute of America Lecture Series

Thursday, 7:30 p.m., McClung Museum Auditorium
UT professor Dawnie Steadman, a skeletal biologist who specializes in forensic anthropology, will discuss the research on mass grave exhumations being conducted by UT's Forensic Anthropology Center.


Office of National Scholarships and Fellowships 'Tips over Tea'
