December Courage to Climb Award: Katherine Waxstein

Katherine Waxstein, a senior completing a dual degree in psychology and child and family studies, won the Courage to Climb award for her enthusiastic and unshakeable commitment to service, diversity and inclusivity, and leadership.

Continuing Student Scholarship Applications

Many UT scholarship committees use the continuing undergraduate student scholarship application to consider possible awards for returning students. Complete your application by clicking the financial aid main menu on MyUTK. Deadline is February 1.

Being a resident assistant is one of the most rewarding leadership experiences you can have on campus. Meet new people, make a difference in the lives of others, and learn new skills. Deadline is January 17. 


Congressional Internship Program

The Congressional Internship Program is designed to enhance students’ opportunities to work with Tennessee’s legislators in Washington, D.C. Application deadline for summer and fall internships is January 29.

Dimitri Kusnezov, chief scientist & director of the Office of Science & Policy for the National Nuclear Security Administration

Dimitri Kusnezov, chief scientist and director of the Office of Science and Policy for NNSA, will visit campus to give a presentation on computation and science policy.


Artist in Residence Biennial Opening Reception

Thursday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Ewing Gallery of Art and Architecture
The Ewing Gallery will present the 2014 Artist in Residence Biennial during an opening reception. The four exhibiting artists are Patricia Treib, Michael Berryhill, E.J. Hauser, and Jaya Howey. The art will be on display until February 6. 


Shoutout at the Summitt

Friday, 9:00 p.m., Thompson-Boling Arena
Shoutout at the Summitt will kick off this semester's basketball season with free food, entertainment, and perks including early admission wristbands for the UT vs. Texas A&M game, player and coach meet-and-greets, and locker room tours.

January 12: Last day to add, change grading options, or drop without a "W" (first session courses)
January 14: Direct deposits of excess financial aid funds will be sent to students designated bank account
