This has been the year of bathroom issues at my school! From Kindergarteners exposing themselves to 8th graders urinating! I'm really at a loss with how to deal with these issues. I've tried the referring to doctors and therapists routes, but we're still having issues/parents aren't following through. No abuse is known/suspected. I need any and all the help you can suggest for things that we can do here at the school to help. So here are the major issues: ---4th grade boy defecating on himself in car on the way home (parents came to us for help but are limited financially and in general life skills, etc.) and 7th grade girl (his sibling) urinating here at school. Their mother seems to be an excessive worrier and blows things out of proportion and also is constantly seeking assistance for fear that they will "run out" of food, money, gas, etc. and the kids are picking up that tendency. Again, doctor, therapist routes were of no use. ---Kindergarten girl retains her feces. Won't go at home or school. The backup has caused infections. She also doesn't want to grow up, still acts like/wants to be treated like a baby, but doesn't use them if allowed to wear pull-ups. Only child. Doctor has recommended miralax so there's no pain, in fact it is so liquid that it seeps out on its on sometimes. ---8th grade boy, poor emotional regulation, immature. Urinates in the bed at night and doesn't shower before coming to school sometimes. On a side note, I would also like the name of therapists to refer students to in or around Sevier County (Sevier, Knox, Blount, Cocke, Jefferson).
