Do You Know How to Get the Most Out of the Common Core?
If you're a teacher, principal, or librarian working in a public school, you're
probably concerned with how the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) will affect
you and your students. The upcoming Common Core Conference will help educators
formulate practical strategies for Common Core success in schools.
An Essential Team for Common Core Success
Friday, February 7, 2014
9 a.m.-3 p.m.
(Breakfast available at
8:30 a.m.)
Rutgers, Busch Campus Center - Room 174
604 Bartholomew Road
Piscataway, NJ 08854
Principals, teachers, and librarians will:
•Collaborate to gain a greater understanding of how they can help each other
achieve CCSS goals;
•Learn how to select digital and print materials that build knowledge across
key subject areas through a hands-on workshop led by Student Achievement
Partners (experts in CCSS for ELA);
•Take home a text set model that can be used for an upcoming curricular unit
or future lesson planning.
Participants will be able to network, learn from practitioners in the field,
and apply these approaches immediately in the classroom.
This unique conference is co-hosted by the School of Communication &
Information - CISSL and the Graduate School of Education - Center for Literacy
Development.
For more information or to register, visit our website. The conference is
available in person or virtually via GoToWebinar. NJ teachers will receive PD
