The Department of Library and Information Studies at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica invites applications for two tenure-track positions in Information Management and Archives and Records Management.  The successful candidates will demonstrate ability in research and teaching (at undergraduate and graduate levels) in two or more of the following specializations through research work, scholarly publications, conference presentations and courses taught: 

·         Information Organization  (metadata, ontologies, databases);

·         Digital libraries;

·         Digital library technologies and content management systems;

·         Information behavior

·         New and emerging media and technologies;

·         Game technology;

·         Information architecture;

·         Digital curation and preservation;

·         Archives and Records Management;

·         Digital preservation standards; services and techniques;

·         Archives  and Society

Candidates will also be required to participate in the strategic planning and management of teaching and learning, including curricula development within the Department, supervise graduate research,  as well as contribute to the life of the University and advance teaching, research and community outreach.
 
Requirements
Ideally, applicants should have an earned doctorate in Library/Information Science or a related discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Education. Candidates who expect to complete their degree by the date of appointment may be considered.  Expertise and experience in the application of technology for course delivery; online/hybrid course delivery, would be useful assets.
