Geography majors,

This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable research and field experiences in one of the most idyllic settings in the entire Southeast. I’ve participated at two events at the Mountain Lake Biological Station (where I originally met fellow faculty member Dr. Sally Horn for the first time) as have several of my former students, and I can attest to the positive experiences you will gain from participating in this REU program.

If you’d like to learn more about the MLBS, come see me! If you’d like to learn more about undergraduate research possibilities here in geography, come see me or your faculty advisors, Dr. Ron Kalafsky or Dr. Micheline van Riemsdijk! And consider joining Gamma Theta Upsilon, the International Geographic Honor Society (http://www.gammathetaupsilon.org/) – on the walls of several of our faculty members, you’ll see GTU membership plaques that we proudly display!

Have a wonderful holiday season!
