UT Brings the Circus to Homecoming for Cirque du Rocky Top

Homecoming stands out as the greatest orange-and-white celebration on the UT calendar. This year's Homecoming activities culminate with students, faculty, staff, and alumni coming together for Saturday's game against the Auburn Tigers.

Reminders

Student Basketball Tickets Available Now

Basketball season is here! Log in to Big Orange Tix to claim your ticket to home basketball games. By claiming a ticket, your VolCard will be activated to allow you access into each game. You will not need a printed ticket to enter the game, but you must have your student ID. The next basketball game is this Thursday against Southern Indiana. 


Third Annual National Day of Remembrance and Roll Call

The National Day of Remembrance and Roll Call will take place on November 11 at the South Lawn of Ayres Hall. Sign up to read names of those who have given the greatest sacrifice in service to our country since September 11. A presentation will be given at 1:45 p.m. and an observance of the national moment of silence will take place at 2:00 p.m.


First Annual Benefit BBQ for the ALS Association

Phi Delta Theta Fraternity will host their first annual benefit BBQ for the ALS Association at 10:00 a.m. this Saturday before the Homecoming game at the McClung Tower Plaza. Enjoy food, cornhole, music, and other fun activities. Cost is $10 donation per person. 


Boyd Venture Fund Applications Due This Friday

Need a little help getting your student-owned business off the ground? The Boyd Venture Fund is looking for students interested in applying for seed funding. The application deadline is Friday, November 8.

Want to understand your leadership style and how to put it into use? Sign up for the fall 2013 leadership certificate program on Saturday, November 16. Sessions will focus on the student leadership challenge, leading at UT, and leading after graduation. 


Vols 2 Vols Peer Education Program

Looking for a unique way to educate your student organization about health and wellness issues? VOLS 2 VOLS is the S.E.E Center's new peer education program, where trained students present to your organization from a student-to-student perspective. Their current program focuses on Sexual Health and Healthy Relationships.

Centro Hispano de East Tennessee is in need of volunteers and interns to help teach and tutor, as well as support children's programs and legal clinics. You do not have to speak Spanish to volunteer.

Collage Culture: From Picasso to Facebook

Tonight, 5:30 p.m., McCarty Auditorium, Art & Architecture Building
Attend a lecture by New York collage enthusiast Pavel Zoubok, where he will speak about the history of the collage. Zoubok runs the Pavel Zoubok Gallery, New York's only gallery that focuses exclusively on collage work. He is also the founder of the International Center for Collage. 


Art Talk Featuring Christian Siriano

Tomorrow, 7:00 p.m., UC Auditorium
Christian Siriano, fashion designer and winner of Project Runway season 4, will show pieces from his Spring/Summer 2014 collection and answer audience questions. Siriano studied fashion in London, where he interned with industry legends Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen. 


Mr. and Miss Freshman Pageant

Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., UC Auditorium, $5
The Mr. and Miss Freshman Pageant is a fundraising event in which first-year students can display their talents to the campus community. Winners receive a book scholarship and will represent the Multicultural Mentoring Program in the Homecoming parade.


All events are free unless otherwise noted.
