Senior Lindsay Lee Receives Rhodes Scholar Award

Senior Lindsay Lee, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, has been named a Rhodes Scholar. She is one of thirty-two students selected in the nation and the seventh Rhodes scholar in UT history.

 


Record Breaking Blood Collection during Annual Blood Drive

UT fell to Kentucky in last week’s Battle of the Orange and Blue blood drive. UT collected 3,458 pints while Kentucky collected 3,601 pints. The competition did, however, bring about a record breaking week for blood collections at both centers. Medic's inventory is now fully stocked with life-saving blood to get through the holiday season.

UT Recycling Wins Game Day Challenge for Composting Efforts

UT Recycling's efforts during home football games helped UT win first place for composting in the SEC division Game Day Challenge, a friendly competition for universities to promote waste reduction at football games.

There's a little more than a week left for instructor evaluations. Please take a moment to fill out your evaluations. The system will close at midnight on Wednesday, December 4. These evaluations are important as faculty often make changes based on student responses.

Kwanzaa Celebration

Tonight, 7:00 p.m., UC Ballroom
The annual Kwanzaa celebration highlights the traditions and importance of African-American culture. This year's celebration will feature Bokandeye African-American Theater, a candle-lighting ceremony, a feast, and dancing.


Student Arts Appreciation Showcase

Tonight, 8:00 p.m., Alumni Memorial Building, $1
The Dance Society is hosting its first fall showcase, featuring the BOSS Dance Company student choreographers as well as other dance and fine arts groups on campus. Admission proceeds will benefit the Joy of Music School.


Oxfam America Chipotle Fundraiser Night

Tomorrow, 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Chipotle on Cumberland Avenue
Bring the fundraiser flier, show the flyer on your smartphone, or tell the cashier at Chipotle, and 50 percent of your purchase will benefit Oxfam America, a global organization working to solve poverty, hunger, and injustice. Flyers can be found on the club's Facebook page
