and Silicon Alley, the Department of Information Systems, in the College of
Computing Sciences, at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) seeks
applications for 2 faculty positions in Human Centered Computing, and Big Data.
Human
Centered Computing: The
candidate must have or be near the completion of a PhD in business, computing,
informatics, or a related field with a focus on Human-Centered Computing;
related industry experience is a plus. We seek candidates with a proven track
record in interdisciplinary research in Human Centered Computing (HCC). We
encourage applications from any area of HCC including but not limited to:
Social Computing, Digital Everyware/Ubicomp, CSCW, Assistive Technologies and
Usable Privacy and Security. Preference will be given to candidates with
experience in UXD, UX-Research and the building and testing of innovative
interactive systems, and grant funding. For more information, please

Big Data: The candidate should have a PhD in
computing, informatics, energy systems, business or a related analytical field;
related industry experience is desirable. We seek candidates with areas of
expertise in, but not limited to: pattern recognition, machine learning,
natural language processing, and high-performance computing for integration,
analysis, visualization, and stream processing of very large amounts of
structured, semi-structured, or unstructured data from disparate sources and
potentially of heterogeneous formats. Relevance to energy systems is preferred.
However, big data analytics in social media and healthcare will also be
