Information and Library Science One-Year Full-time Faculty Position Announcement Rank: Assistant Brief description of duties/responsibilities: The Department of Information and Library Science at the Southern Connecticut State University seeks highly-qualified applicants for a one-year fulltime faculty position for the 2014-2015 academic year. Responsibilities include: Teach graduate and undergraduate level courses in Information/Library Science; advise students; provide service to the department and university; and engage in research and scholarship. Southern offers an environment in which teaching and research share the highest priority and where colleagues offer and expect collaboration in all phases of academic life. We seek an individual with demonstrated dynamic teaching skills that will complement our existing faculty strengths. The successful applicant must demonstrate a commitment to working in an environment devoted to student learning, collegiality, professional development, diversity, civic responsibility, and respect for all people. This is a 10-month full-time appointment, with potential for renewal for a second year. Salary and benefits are competitive based upon qualifications and experience. Qualifications. Appropriate advanced degree; demonstrated evidence of effective and innovative teaching, a record of research accomplishments or demonstrated potential for research excellence.
