A search in the subscription database Contemporary Authors reveals that he was a statistician and worked in the corporate world in Cleveland OH before turning to librarianship. He had an earned PhD before earning his MA LS from the University of Denver in 1958. His library education career was at SUNY Geneseo and previous to SUNY Geneseo he was a library administrator at the University of Denver. As already noted, he was the founder, president, editor in chief of the publishing house Libraries Unlimited. From Contemporary Authors updated July 2001, "Education: University of Munich, Diplom-Volkswirt, 1949, Ph.D., 1950; University of Denver, M.A. in L.S., 1958."
