ject: Please promote to your doctoral students - Doctoral Student Research Track for Library 2.013 online conference

Dear PhD program coordinator, Dean, Director or Chair:

I would like your help in letting the doctoral students in your program know about the opportunity to participate and present their research at the upcoming conference: the Library 2.013 Worldwide Virtual Conference, which will be held October 18th-19th.  For more information about presentation guidelines and submittal instructions, please visit the conference website at: http://www.library20.com/page/proposal-submission-2013  The deadline for submitting abstracts is September 30th.

New this year is a dedicated Doctoral Student Research strand where doctoral students will have the opportunity to share their library and information science research at whatever stage they are at — from literature review, to methodology development, to preliminary findings, to theoretical framework, etc.  Doctoral students will gain valuable experience of presenting their research in an online environment.  They will be able to get feedback from global professionals and scholars, expand their CVs, and get a recorded link to their presentation and discussion for review and use.

This is the third year of this conference.  The previous two conferences reached a broad international audience -- attracting more than 10,000 people from 160 countries.  The Library 2.013 Worldwide Virtual Conference will be held online via web conferencing, with presentations held in multiple languages and scheduled around the clock over the course of two days. You can log in anytime from the comfort of your home, office, or favorite coffee shop. Plus, it's a free conference so everyone has the opportunity to participate and engage in these global conversations.

The Library 2.013 Worldwide Virtual Conference is co-founded by the San Jose State University School of Library and Information Science (SJSU SLIS). For more information about the Library 2.013 Worldwide Virtual Conference, check out the information school’s Pinterest board and visit the conference website at:http://www.library20.com/2013

Please share this announcement with your doctoral students and other colleagues.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Sincerely,

Sandy Hirsh
