This two-part webinar series is presented by Mary Minow, library copyright
expert and holder of Dominican University's Follett Chair.

   - *What Every Library Worker Should Know*, October 9, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
   CST
Every library story time, website space for blog comment, or film
showing has copyright implications for library staff and for the
institution. Get a firm grip on copyright basics to learn what's clear,
what's not, and how to minimize risk. This webinar will cover the basics on
identifying public domain materials, introduce viewers to the "library
exception" that allows libraries to make replacement and preservation
copies of materials and offer interlibrary loan, under certain conditions,
and will provide a simple form to file with the U.S. Copyright Office to
limit the library's exposure when patrons use library resources.
   - *Hot Issues in Copyright*, October 30, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. CST
Ebooks, orphan works, and e-reserves have all been central issues in
litigation. Get an update on cases and other pending copyright developments
that affect libraries, users and access to information.
