Clayton State University, a member institution of the University System of Georgia, seeks an enthusiastic, creative, and forward thinking librarian to serve as the Head of Electronic Resources and Services of the Clayton State University Library.

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Head of Electronic Resources and Services is to provide leadership in the development of the Library's online presence and in the management of its electronic materials. The Head of Electronic Resources and Services plans, develops, coordinates, and implements all activities and policies related to electronic resources and services. Other duties may include participation in collection development, reference, and instruction. The person in this position serves as the back-up system administrator for the Library's Voyager Integrated Library System (ILS).

In meeting these responsibilities the Head of Electronic Resources and Services:

·        Supervises 1 librarian position and 1 staff position and is responsible for hiring, training, and evaluating these staff members. Implements policies and procedures to retain a trained, prepared staff.

·        Manages the Library's online presence supervising the development of the Library's web page and working collaboratively with others to create, assess, revise, and maintain web content, navigation and access to resources. Develops instructional content including instructional videos and Libguides.

·        Manages the Library's access to electronic content insuring that online content is available both on and off campus. Responsible for working with the campus Office of Information Technology to maintain EZproxy and working with Galileo staff to ensure access to Galileo and local content through the Galileo interface.

·        Oversees the management of electronic resources including electronic books, databases and individual electronic journal subscriptions insuring that these resources are available through the Library's online catalog and other discovery tools as appropriate. Communicates with vendors to establish and maintain continued access to all electronic resources. Maintains records of license agreements, access methods and other details related to each electronic title.

·        Serves as the contact point for Library computer hardware and software needs. Works collaboratively with other campus departments to assure that computer problems encountered by Library staff and patrons are addressed.

·        Develops and maintains electronic services and resources policies and procedures for the Clayton State University Library.

·        Participates in Reference and Library Instruction functions in order to develop a better understanding of the needs of the Clayton State community.

·        Participates in the Library Liaison program to provide better communication between the Library and the Clayton State Faculty.

·        Recommends to the Associate Dean new programs, policies and procedures to improve library service to the Clayton State community.

·        Positively represents Clayton State University in professional and community organizations.

·        Performs other duties that may be assigned to carry out and expand the Library program.

Qualifications:
Required:

·        Master's degree from an ALA accredited institution

·        2 years library experience at the professional level including experience in one or more of the following areas: web page development, electronic resource management or serials cataloging or acquisitions.

·        Knowledge of current and emerging technologies as they apply to libraries

·        Knowledge of trends and practices in e-resource management including licensing, workflow, access and delivery.

·        Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new technologies coupled with the judgment to determine those appropriate for implementation in the existing environment.

·        Demonstrated strong organizational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Preferred:

·        Supervisory experience

·        Experience using Ex Libris Voyager ILS.

·        Experience with Library system administration particularly with the Voyager ILS.
