Job Description

Southern New Hampshire University Shapiro Library seeks a collaborative Instructional Design Librarian to help support our growing online student and faculty population. Along-side the Off Campus Services Librarian, this position will take the lead on collaborating with the College for Online and Continuing Education (COCE) to build and maintain information literacy learning objects and assessments, tutorials, learning modules, and other technologically enhanced instructional materials for access through the Shapiro Library portal, within the university learning management system (currently Blackboard 9) or for use in conjunction with other teaching strategies in a blended or online learning environment. This position reports to the library Dean.

Description of Responsibilities:

• Identify the need for, and facilitate the creation of, library initiatives to support online learning, including the development of Shapiro Library presence in the college course management system.
• Facilitate the continued development of librarians as instructional partners in the student learning process. Develop expertise in online instruction and serve as a resource and workshop facilitator regarding pedagogy in online environments. Develop and share best practices for innovative teaching techniques and teaching information literacy across multimedia platforms.
• Create and maintain an information literacy program for COCE across the curriculum.
• Develop tools to assess information literacy skills of COCE students.
• Take the lead on developing an SNHU branded citation style guide.
• Build and maintain a COCE library orientation module/course.
• Create and maintain critical thinking focused multimedia learning objects.
• Collaborate extensively with a variety of teaching partners, including the Off Campus Services Librarian, instructional designers, librarians, and faculty.
• Provide assistance to online students and faculty by being embedded in online courses.
• Share in reference coverage.
• Serve on library, COCE, and university-wide groups, and committees.
• Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills & Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• ALA-accredited MLS degree or ALA-recognized foreign equivalent.
• Minimum 2-3 years of professional-level experience in reference and instruction in an academic library.
• Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design principles and technologies, reflected in instructional products and materials.
• Demonstrated knowledge of information literacy concepts and issues and their connection with teaching and learning issues in higher education.
• Demonstrated familiarity with instructional theories, methods and practices used with diverse learner communities in undergraduate and graduate information literacy instruction.
• Coursework or professional experience with instructional design tools, Web authoring software, tutorial capture software, and other technologies used in instructional design.
• Experience with learning management systems (Blackboard preferred).
• Experience and ability to work collaboratively with others and to manage projects and initiatives.
• Knowledge of copyright principles as they relate to online instructional design.
• Self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the commitment to work as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree.
• 3-5 years professional reference and instruction experience in an academic library.
• Experience collaborating with teaching faculty and course designers to create and advance professional relationships that align library teaching objectives with course outcomes.
• Familiarity with web accessibility standards for persons with disabilities.

In this role, you will be working on custom digital circuits and library development. You will work with the team to implement advanced circuit techniques to improve circuit performance and optimize dynamic/static power. You will be driving development of standard cells, custom cells including adder, multiplier and low power flops. It requires you to understand the complete library design flow, P&R/timing integration requirements of library, DFT/testing aspect of the design. In addition, you will be driving methodology and CAD flow enhancement for the semi custom design flow.

Job Description

The Product Manager – Library Technical Services is responsible for defining market requirements and packaging the features into product releases. This position involves close interaction with development leads, product architects, and key customers. A strong understanding of library technical services and related products is required. • Present at user group and trade conferences. Perform in the capacity of product champion within the library market at large. Represent the company at trade shows, in library forums, and standards committees. Act as a strategic peer representing the company on library listservs and other social media. 
• Compose marketing release notes. Act as key resource to sales and marketing organizations to articulate a clear, singular product vision, communicate product features and benefits and competitive positioning and comparisons that drive tactical sales and marketing program development. Prepare and deliver presentations, white papers, articles, and participate in social      media as needed. Contribute content to bid proposals and RFP responses.
• Maintain a status dashboard of product portfolio. Articulate product strategy, customer  needs, product requirements and portfolio status at a corporate and product-team level.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary as this position requires engaging with customers, partner vendors and competitors, as well  as with all departments within the company. 
• Ability and willingness to travel (15%) domestically with occasional trips of 7-8 days including weekends. Occasional international travel.

• Master of Library Science and/or substantive experience in libraries or the library automation marketplace.  Demonstrated understanding of the Library and Internet markets.
