*Position Summary:*

The Columbus office of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP has an immediate
opening for an experienced and entrepreneurial Librarian.  Our dynamic team
of library and research professionals strives to ensure that all Vorys
personnel receive the highest levels of service and support.



*Job Duties:*

   - Provide reference and research services to attorneys, paralegals and
   staff utilizing print and electronic resources in legal, business, and
   other disciplines.
   - Coordinate and implement training initiatives and orientation for
   attorneys, paralegals and staff.
   - Coordinate current awareness initiatives, including docket alerts and
   case tracking.
   - Coordinate and implement promotion of library and research services
   through user instruction, departmental presentations, development of
   pathfinders and other training materials for all levels of users.
   - Prepare features and other materials for inclusion in newsletters, and
   for posting on the firm’s intranet.
   - Act as practice group liaison to market library and research services
   and assess practice group research needs.
   - Manage docket alerts and competitive intelligence initiatives.
   - Perform and participate in special projects as assigned.

 Job Description

Southern New Hampshire University Shapiro Library seeks a collaborative
Instructional Design Librarian to help support our growing online student
and faculty population. Along-side the Off Campus Services Librarian, this
position will take the lead on collaborating with the College for Online
and Continuing Education (COCE) to build and maintain information literacy
learning objects and assessments, tutorials, learning modules, and other
technologically enhanced instructional materials for access through the
Shapiro Library portal, within the university learning management system
(currently Blackboard 9) or for use in conjunction with other teaching
strategies in a blended or online learning environment. This position
reports to the library Dean.

Description of Responsibilities:

   - Identify the need for, and facilitate the creation of, library
   initiatives to support online learning, including the development of
   Shapiro Library presence in the college course management system.
   - Facilitate the continued development of librarians as instructional
   partners in the student learning process. Develop expertise in online
   instruction and serve as a resource and workshop facilitator regarding
   pedagogy in online environments. Develop and share best practices for
   innovative teaching techniques and teaching information literacy across
   multimedia platforms.
   - Create and maintain an information literacy program for COCE across
   the curriculum.
   - Develop tools to assess information literacy skills of COCE students.
   - Take the lead on developing an SNHU branded citation style guide.
   - Build and maintain a COCE library orientation module/course.
   - Create and maintain critical thinking focused multimedia learning
   objects.
   - Collaborate extensively with a variety of teaching partners, including
   the Off Campus Services Librarian, instructional designers, librarians, and
   faculty.
   - Provide assistance to online students and faculty by being embedded in
   online courses.
   - Share in reference coverage.
   - Serve on library, COCE, and university-wide groups, and committees.
   - Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills & Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

   - ALA-accredited MLS degree or ALA-recognized foreign equivalent.
   - Minimum 2-3 years of professional-level experience in reference and
   instruction in an academic library.
   - Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design principles and
   technologies, reflected in instructional products and materials.
   - Demonstrated knowledge of information literacy concepts and issues and
   their connection with teaching and learning issues in higher education.
   - Demonstrated familiarity with instructional theories, methods and
   practices used with diverse learner communities in undergraduate and
   graduate information literacy instruction.
   - Coursework or professional experience with instructional design tools,
   Web authoring software, tutorial capture software, and other technologies
   used in instructional design.
   - Experience with learning management systems (Blackboard preferred).
   - Experience and ability to work collaboratively with others and to

   - Knowledge of copyright principles as they relate to online
   instructional design.

   in social      media as needed. Contribute content to bid proposals and RFP

   corporate and product-team level.

   position requires engaging with customers, partner vendors and competitors,
   as well  as with all departments within the company.
   - Ability and willingness to travel (15%) domestically with occasional
