Move-In Day 2013—Welcome to Your Home on Rocky Top!

move in photo Are you ready for life on Rocky Top? Campus will be bustling this weekend with students traveling from all over to move in. Residence Halls open at 8:00 a.m. Campus and community volunteers will be on hand to help unload cars and answer questions.

Returning students—tweet tips, tricks, and advice to incoming freshmen during their first week using the hashtag #welcomevols!

ONE STOP EXPRESS

One Stop Express One Stop Express Student Services, located in Hodges Library, will be open this Saturday and Sunday, August 17 and 18, to assist you with enrollment, registration, financial aid, and payment services. Hours this weekend are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Many services and transactions are also available online at MyUTK. You can view your current account balances and financial aid, make payments, or enroll in a deferred payment plan for fall 2013. Minimum fee payments are due by 4:30 p.m. on August 19.

If you have financial aid that exceeds the cost you pay to attend the university, you will receive excess financial aid funds via direct deposit into your designated bank account. You must create a refund profile through the MyUTK Portal by clicking on "View/Pay Fees" under the UTK Student Registration Links section.

REMINDERS

textbook photoPurchase your fall 2013 and spring 2014 parking permits online! The ten-month (mid-August thru mid-May) permits cost $285 for non-commuters (students living on campus) and $182 for commuters (students living off campus and commuting daily).

INVOLVED

textbook photoRemember your first week of the 2013 school year by having your photo taken in the Time Capsule Photo Booth, sponsored by the Visual Arts Committee in the University Center! The photo booth is open Saturday, August 17, through Friday, August 23.

FRESHMAN YEAR FIRSTS

textbook photoThe Life of the Mind program is your first taste of academic life at UT. Hear author Bill McKibben talk about Eaarth: Making a Life on a Tough New Planet at 5:30 p.m. Monday, August 19, in Thompson-Boling Arena. Attendance for freshmen is required as part of the FYS 100 course.
