Call for Student Volunteer at the 2nd RDA (Research Data Alliance) Plenary

September 16-18, 2013, Washington, DC, National Academy of Sciences

The program committee for the 2nd Plenary meeting of the Research Data Alliance (RDA) seeks student volunteer note takers for the RDA working group and interest group meetings.

The Research Data Alliance implements the technology, practice, and connections that make Data Work across barriers. At the heart of RDA is its working groups (WG) and interest groups (IG) take focus on specific problems or issues related to data sharing. WGs and IGs are listed @: https://rd-alliance.org/working-and-interest-groups.html.

The IGs focus on a particular topic with an aim toward identifying potential problems for community engagement and resolution. The WGs address a specific technology or social issue for resolution within a 12-18 month timeframe.

*Student volunteers will receive complimentary registration to the entire Plenary meeting.

* Student volunteers are expected to work with the WG or IG co-chairs, take notes during the Plenary breakout sessions and summarize those notes for co-chairs who will report back to the entire Plenary.

The 2nd Plenary RDA meeting represents an exciting opportunity to interact with a diverse, important community. We will build upon the successful 1st Plenary meeting that featured researchers, funders and librarians from over 30 countries.

Interest students should send their name, contact information to: Christine Mayo <[log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>>, Metadata Research Center, School of Information and Library Science, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A brief statement of interest is optional.

Further information about RDA is available at https://rd-alliance.org and further information about the 2nd Plenary meeting is available at https://www.rd-alliance.org/future-events.
