earned his Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario, has joined us this

Dr. Xinyu (Cindy) Yu has been awarded tenure and promotion to Associate
Professor.

Dr Yu is the recipient of an outreach award of
$20,000 funded by the National Library of Medicine
through the National Network of Libraries of Medicine Southeastern
Atlantic Region. In this project titled "Strengthening
the 21st Century Public Health Informatics Competencies: Outreach to the Future
Public health Professionals at the University of Southern Mississippi,"
she will assess public health professionals' information
needs and develop a public health informatics graduate course for the
Department of Public Health and School of Library and Information Science.
British Studies LIS class of 2013, 17 grad students from nine LIS programs
across the U.S., has just completed another summer of study abroad in London
