Alexander Elementary School in Jackson, Tennessee (a part of the Jackson-Madison County School system) is looking for a school library media specialist for the 2013-2014 school year.  Alexander is a small, PK-5 school in an urban part of the city.   Student enrollment tops out at about 350, and has a fairly low socio-economic status.  Students can be challenging as some bring some terrible "baggage" to school, but the position is super rewarding.  These children need love and are very sweet.  They love coming to the library!

The library is amazing, it has over 10,000 in holdings and is one of the best in the system.  It is nicely laid out, has been remodeled in past years.  There are tons of books, and amazing AV room with teaching manipulatives galore.  

Supportive administration and caring faculty and staff make this position very special.
