 Job Description

The newly forming Prometric Corporate Library will be a small one-person
library serving Prometric employees and clients.  Its primary purpose is to
provide reference materials required for test development across a wide
variety of subject specialties in support of the company’s online testing
services.  In addition, the collection will include resources fostering
professional development, especially in the areas of test development,
psychometrics, and management.

The Prometric Corporate Library requires a professional librarian who will
manage all aspects of the library.  The Company seeks an innovative,
collaborative, technologically adept, and service oriented individual to
participate in establishing the library and assume primary responsibility
for building and maintaining the collection and providing essential library
services contributory to the success of the business.

   - Take a lead role in implementing the selected ILS including data
   migration, set up, testing, trouble-shooting, and procedure development, in
   order to achieve efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the system
   - Select, acquire, catalog, classify, circulate, and maintain all
   library materials
   - Develop, catalog, and classify special collections such as state and
   industry codes and standards, periodicals, magazines, newspapers,
   audio-visual material, unpublished, and archival materials
   - Work in collaboration with Test Development Services staff to build
   and maintain test development reference collections for individual
   lines-of-business
   - Work collaboratively with Prometric employees to build and maintain
   collection of professional development and management resources
   - Identify appropriate resources in online, electronic, and other
   formats to supplement or replace hard-copy materials
   - Maintain established shelf order and weed the collection as necessary
   - Maintain records of archived materials
   - Seek opportunities with libraries in the region or the industry for
   resource sharing, including access to online and electronic resources and
   inter-library loan arrangements
   - Search reference materials, including electronic sources and the
   Internet, in order to answer questions and/or assist users with research
   - Provide reports to management on all aspects of library operation
   - May perform in-depth, strategic research and synthesize, analyze,
   edit, and filter information
   - May translate or order translation of materials

Desired Skills & Experience

   - American Library Association (ALA)-accredited master's degree in
   library or information science
