The Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) is now hosting the 2014 PTC Young Scholar Program (see attached application form and flier). Please help get the word out to students and colleagues.
The Pacific Telecommunications Council's (PTC) Young Scholar Program aims to encourage, and support up-and-coming scholars in the field of information and communication technologies (ICTs). Outstanding applicants for the 2014 PTC Young Scholar Program will be invited to present their research at PTC’s 36th consecutive annual conference, PTC’14 New World, New Strategies, which will take place in Honolulu, Hawaii from 19–22 January 2014.
The 2014 PTC Young Scholar Program offers promising researchers the opportunity to:
• Present their research in a high-visibility academic and industry forum
• Receive detailed feedback from a panel of distinguished scholars and industry leaders
• Gain exposure to current industry issues and trends
• Network with industry professionals, members of international organizations and NGOs, government officials, and academics from over 60 countries
Eligibility
The PTC Young Scholar Program is open to actively enrolled Ph.D. students and individuals holding post-doctoral positions under 35 years of age. Individuals from emerging economies are strongly encouraged to apply.
Application Process
Download the 2014 PTC Young Scholar Program application form. Applications are due on Thursday, 15 August 2013.
PTC will cover the travel expenses associated with attending PTC’14 for the selected applicants who attend the conference and present their research. Covered expenses include full conference registration, round-trip economy airfare, hotel accommodations, and a stipend of US$500.
