UALR HEAD OF ACQUISITIONS
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) invites applications for the position of Head of Acquisitions (R98111) a tenure-track faculty appointment. The successful candidate will provide leadership and expertise in all issues relating to the ordering and receipt of library materials, including: overseeing ordering and receiving of all library materials; processing payments and preparing appropriate reports and statistics; and closely monitoring budget allocation for materials. The position supervises 3 FTE staff.
All library faculty are responsible for working collaboratively to achieve University and Library goals and objectives. In addition, faculty members must meet the requirements for tenure and promotion.
The successful candidate should possess demonstrated experience with issues and practices involved in the acquisition and maintenance of electronic resources, including knowledge of licensing as well as publisher practices and trends; electronic ordering, invoicing and processing; strong computer skills; ability to manage detailed tasks; excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills to communicate in a personable, courteous and professional manner; and knowledge of trends and best practices in acquisitions, serials and electronic resources management. Required Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS degree plus a minimum of one year supervisory experience post-MLS in an academic or research library. Desired qualifications include: experience with Innovative Interfaces, Inc.; accounting experience; and experience with ERM applications and management.
