The Hatchie Birdfest that will be held in Brownsville, Tennessee, this weekend May 31-June 2. This is a free event.
Bob Ford, a Wildlife Biologist, with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, will open the event Friday night, May 31, with a presentation on the birds of Haywood County. Several
guided birding hikes at the nearby Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge are scheduled for early Saturday morning. During the day Saturday, at the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center, there will be a variety of presentations on birds as well as educational exhibitors
and vendors. Sunday Morning Bob Ford will lead a birding walk on the refuge and birders are also invited to bird the refuge on their own. Birders should pre-register for the birding hikes.
Saturday at 1 p.m., UT's Carol Reese will present a program entitled "Blooming Buffett for Butterflies, Birds and Bees."
