Call for Student Volunteers - SIGIR 2013 Dublin, Ireland - July 28th - August 1st, 2013

============================================================================

The 36th annual ACM SIGIR conference will be held in Dublin, Ireland. For more information on the conference, please visit: http://www.sigir2013.ie

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic student volunteers to support the running of SIGIR 2013.

Student volunteers will need to commit to approximately 8 hours of effort during the conference. Volunteers will be expected to assist staff with tasks such as organising conference material, supporting sessions to ensure they run smoothly, checking badges, helping people locate sessions, running errands etc.  These tasks will typically consist of multiple three to four hour time periods, including the tutorial and workshop days.

Serving as a student volunteer is a great way to get involved in the conference, while contributing to the SIGIR community. Volunteers will receive a registration waiver for the main conference including welcome reception and the conference banquet.

Unfortunately we are not able to provide travel support as part of the student volunteer package. Students wishing to apply for travel support please visit: http://www.sigir.org/travel-support/
Students interested in volunteering should complete the following form – https://events.conferencepartners.ie/ei/getdemo.ei?id=154&s=_3100YZ43C

There are a limited number of volunteer positions available.
Applicants must be enrolled as a student at the time of the conference. Graduate students will be given preference, but undergraduate students will also be considered.
Applications must be received by June 5th for full consideration. After that date, applications will only be considered if there is unfilled need.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by June 12th, in time for the Early Registration deadline.
