Assistant Librarian
Librarian, Reference & Instruction
Description of Duties:
Provides library reference and research services, including evening and weekend shifts; Plans and teaches library instruction sessions, both in person and on-line, under guidance of the Coordinator of Instruction; Assists with training and user support for
mobile/tablet apps and emerging technologies as part of cross-functional team; Assists with coordination of library support for scholarly communication/research/information management; Performs liaison duties to academic departments as assigned, including
collection development and building relationships with teaching faculty; Participates in ongoing professional development activities; Participates fully in the campus community through committee work and other opportunities as available; Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Masters of Library Science or equivalent from an ALA accredited institution, by July 1, 2013;
Evening and weekend availability;
Ability to work with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Interest in library instruction and instructional design;
Demonstrated currency with library, digital and social media applications;
Strong interpersonal skills;
Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team.
