JOB POSTING:
Title: Special Projects Medical Librarian
Hours: 30 hours per week
Duration: 7 months- beginning immediately
Pay: $1,981.00 per month ($16.51 per hour) (no benefits)

Job Description:
This position works closely with the library director to implement a contract-funded project and provides references services in an academic medical center library.
Contract duties include researching and compiling National Library of Medicine and National Institute of Health resources on occupational safety, employee general health, and the development of LibGuides and handouts. This position will attend and participate in outreach sessions and health fairs along with Preston Medical Library faculty librarians, and gather and document metrics on participation as required by the contract. In addition, this position will assist in researching, developing and implementing evaluation tools to assess the effectiveness of the project. Working closely with the library director, a tool kit will be developed, disseminated, and grant documentation will be finalized.
Reference services include providing reference assistance to patrons with directional and collection related questions; checking out circulating material, take requests for literature searches to forward to librarians, and assisting patrons with operating computers and copiers.
Required

·       A  Master’s Degree from an ALA accredited library school.

·       Strong customer service skills.

·       Flexibility to adapt to communicating with people with a variety of educations and literacy levels.

·       Demonstrated organizational skills and, attention to details.

·       Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

·       High level of technology skills use to organize data and create effective documentation.

·       Driver’s License
Preferred

·       Experience in academic or medical library setting.

·       Experience in providing one on one and group Instruction.

·       Educational programming experience.
