--- Come join the Lambda Theta Alpha Latin sorority for a treat and satisfy your sweet tooth, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today and tomorrow at the bake sale on the Pedestrian Walkway. --- In response to the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. over thirty years ago, Jane Elliott devised the controversial and startling "Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes" exercise. This now famous exercise labels participants as inferior or superior based solely upon the color of their eyes and exposes them to the experience of being a minority. The UT Issues Committee is hosting Jane Elliot to discuss the experiment and its ramifications on the education system tonight at 7 p.m. in the UC Auditorium. Questions? E-mail [log in to unmask]

--- The 17th annual Exhibition of Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement is happening today and tomorrow in the University Center Ballroom. Tomorrow, the event is open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. An awards ceremony will be held in the University Center auditorium tomorrow at 6:00 p.m.

--- UT Bookstore's Spring Break Sale is all this week. Tomorrow there will be a special Adidas surplus event in the UC lobby outside the Rocky Top food court. Pick up a UT Bookstore bag and stuff it with as many Adidas items as you can, for $25. Items include fleece, button downs, parkas, pants, shorts, ClimaLites, etc. No returns/exchanges/additional discounts. On Friday, March 22, from noon to 2 p.m., Pat Summitt will be at the UT Bookstore handing out pre-autographed copies of her latest book, "Sum It Up." Questions? e-mail [log in to unmask]

--- Commemorate Women's Her-story Month from noon to 3:30 p.m. tomorrow at Pedestrian Walkway. Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority will be applying non-permanent pink hair paint for donations, with proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. --- Amnesty International's Human Rights Week continues with a lecture tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in the Hodges Library auditorium entitled "Freed From Death Row: A Story of Wrongful Conviction" with Stacy Rector and Ray Krone, discussing Krone's release from death row after DNA evidence proved his innocence. --- "Mr. and Miss Freshman" pageant, 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, in the Black Cultural Center. Sponsored by UT's Minority Achievement Program. Participants will compete in several categories, including a formal wear presentation and a traditional questionnaire. Tickets $3 in advance at the BCC and $5 at the door. Questions? --- Students can get a variety of free screenings and tests at HealthBeat 2013. The event will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 3 in the UC Ballroom. A small fee does apply to those tests that require lab work.

--- The Issues Committee is now accepting membership applications for next fall. The purpose of the committee is to bring interesting and informative issues, lectures, and debates to facilitate student dialogue at UT. --- Is your organization looking for a fun, simple community service project? Consider Rotaract's Can-struct-a-rama. It is a competition where your organization will be challenged to collect cans, and on April 6, bring those cans together to create a magnificent structure that best represents your organization. Opportunities

--- Students: create a short video documentary (or mockumentary, if you prefer) and enter the library's Free Range Video Contest. Registration closes March 22, and entries are due April 2. A screening and awards ceremony will follow. Borrow a video camera and get technical help in the Studio (Hodges Library Commons). Details at s.lib.utk.edu/freerange.

--- Do you have have a great business idea? Would you like start-up money to test your business model? Enter Nourish International's Venture Plan Competition for a chance to test you idea. --- The Academic Affairs Committee of the Student Government Association announces the Golden Apple Award. This faculty honor is given completely by students to professors who have shown an outstanding ability to teach students and engage them in the class material. Three faculty winners will receive recognition at the newly annual Student Government Association's Faculty Appreciation Banquet. Nomination deadline is April 5.
