In February of 2012, the first issue of *SLIS Connecting* was published
online in Southern Miss’ digital repository Aquila:

share news, information and research with future students, current
students, alumni, faculty, and the general population through selected
faculty publications, invited student publications, refereed publications,
and through regular columns. In the first year, we published two issues
with a total of 19 records. In just *one year*, these 19 records have been
downloaded a total of* 4547 times. *In the first six months, there were
over 5000 page views including 82% from within the U.S and 18% from
international locations. Of the 1,098 international page views, they were
from 107 international cities in 68 countries.
