Dear 2013 Ranavirus Symposium Speakers and GRC:

Jesse Brunner sent invitations last week to all speakers who submitted presentation titles in December. As Jesse indicated in his email, the deadline for abstract submission is 1 April 2013 and should be sent to the Ranavirus Symposium Presentations Committee at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. If you submitted a title and did not receive an email from Jesse, please email him ([log in to unmask]) as soon as possible. All individuals that submitted titles were offered either an oral or poster presentation. The poster session associated with the symposium will be held Saturday, 29 July, evening during the social.

If you were offered a poster presentation, but prefer to deliver an oral presentation, we would like to offer the following option:

(1) Present a poster presentation at the symposium, and

(2) Submit an abstract for an oral presentation at the WDA Conference.

The WDA Conference will have at least one herpetofaunal disease session (likely on Thursday, 1 August) where additional talks on ranaviruses could be presented. If you elect this option, please submit an abstract for a poster to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> and submit the same abstract to WDA via their website (http://fwf.ag.utk.edu/WDA2013/abstracts.html). When submitting your poster abstract to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>, indicate that you are submitting the same abstract for a WDA oral presentation too.

If you were offered an oral presentation for the symposium, you are welcome to submit an abstract to WDA for an additional oral presentation, BUT it must be on a different topic.

The above strategy will ensure that unique oral presentations are given at the symposium and WDA conference, but also will ensure strong participation in the ranavirus symposium poster session.

Lastly, if you did not submit a presentation title in December, the Presentation Committee will accept abstracts for poster presentations through 1 May 2013; however, we ask that you email Jesse by 1 April and indicate that you intend to submit an abstract late for inclusion in the poster session. There is no limit on the number of poster presentations that are submitted - all will be accepted.

If you have any questions, please let Jesse or me know.

All the Best---
Matt
