March 26, 2013 To: Campus Communicators From: Johnnie Ray, Search Committee Chair, System Vice President for Communications and Marketing Re: Open Forums for Vice President for Communications and Marketing Finalists The two finalists for the UT System vice president for communications and marketing will visit campus April 9-10. Faculty, staff, students and the public are invited to an open forum for each finalist. The finalists also will have several meetings with employees during the visits. I encourage you to attend the open forums and ask questions. Here is the schedule of open forums: April 9: Virginia Hunt, vice president for the Commonwealth Medical College in Scranton, Pa. April 10: Tonjanita Johnson, chief deputy to the president at Stony Brook University Both forums will be held from 2:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the Scripps Convergence Lab, 402 Communications Building. Each finalist will address this question: "It is a challenging time for institutions of higher education. We face shrinking budgets, questions about the value of a college degree and increasing competition. So, in this environment, how will you position the president and the University of Tennessee system as a voice for the value of higher education while respecting the unique brands of each campus?"
