Nuclear Engineering Seeks Best and Brightest Graduate Students

	

This is the second year the Department of Nuclear Engineering held the Nuclear Engineering Graduate Student Recruitment Weekend at UT. The department hosts upwards of twenty potential nuclear engineering graduate students and educates them on the benefits of joining UT's Nuclear Engineering graduate program. (read more)

		
	
JIAM Acquires Two New Electron Microscopes

	


Imagine having the power to read the mint date on the head of a nickel on the moon, from earth. That’s the power of one of the two new electron microscopes at UT, which were shown off at the JIAM Electron Microscopy Center Grand Opening on February 6, 2013 in SERF. (read more)

		
	
Nuclear Security at UT

	
Howard Hall, Governor’s Chair for Nuclear Security, is spearheading research initiatives at the University of Tennessee to advance the field. Future nuclear engineer Michael Willis works alongside Hall, creating new methods to track nuclear terrorist attacks. (read more)


		
	
Dr. William Hamel Elected ASME Fellow

	
Dr. William Hamel, professor and head of the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Biomedical Engineering, has been elected a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). (Read More)

		
	
Tickle Building Spring Update

	



Fall 2013 will bring the opening of the newest engineering building on the College’s campus. The John D. Tickle Engineering Building will house the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. (read more)
