A Creative, Contemplative Space at the 2013 iConference

A warm invitation is extended to everyone planning to attend the forthcoming iConference to make use of a unique space on offer during the event.

A room has been allocated for use throughout the conference as a quiet, contemplative alternative to the usual high-energy conference conversations and activities. In addition to offering unstructured meditation and 'time to think', at various intervals throughout the conference, creative and contemplative activities such as periods of silent sitting meditation and life writing activities will also be offered in the room. A daily schedule of activities on offer will be posted outside the door.

In the lead up to this event, conference participants are invited to share ideas to put into practice in that contemplative space by contacting Theresa Anderson ([log in to unmask]). We are particularly eager to hear from people interested in assisting with guided meditation or with leading a specific creative or contemplative activity at the conference.

Room Location: Red Oak, Worthington Renaissance Hotel, Fort Worth, Texas
Time: Tuesday (12 Feb) to Friday (15 Feb) from 8:30am - 5:30pm daily

Those interested in learning more about this space or about creative and contemplative practices may also wish to take part in the scheduled alternative event which will be making direct use of this space:
Plan Play Pressure Pause: Engaging Creative Information Practices (#AE5) takes place in Pecos 1, Wednesday (13 February): 3:30pm - 5:00pm

We look forward to seeing you there.
