Good Afternoon, Registration for tomorrow's Talking Freight seminar on An Overview of the National Clean Fleets Partnership is still available. Date/Time: February 20, 2013 1:00 - 2:30 pm ET Registration: http://www.ops.fhwa.dot.gov/freight/fpd/talking_freight/index.htm Description: In recent years petroleum prices have risen to previously unseen levels, putting increasing economic pressure on freight carriers, including truck carriers, to find ways to operate more efficiently and/or use cheaper fuels to enable themselves to reduce their fuel spending. At the same time, both public sector governmental organizations and the private sector carriers themselves have also been working to find ways to reduce transportation emissions on a per vehicle basis, both to protect and preserve the environment and to reduce transportation spending. To address both of these goals, the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) National Clean Fleets Partnership was formed to allow the DOE to work with private freight carriers to find ways to both reduce fuel spending and vehicular emissions. This webinar will provide information about the National Clean Fleets Partnership from both the public sector perspective and the private fleet carrier perspective. Presenters: * Mark Smith, U.S. Department of Energy (National Clean Fleets Partnership program manager) * Kevin Walkowicz, National Renewable Energy Lab * Keshav Sondhi, FedEx Express If you have not yet participated in Talking Freight, I encourage you to do so. These monthly seminars, sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration, are held via web conference, which means that you view the PowerPoint presentations over the Internet while listening to the presenters over your computer or the telephone. There is no cost involved and you do not have to leave your desk to participate.
