JOHNSON CITY PUBLIC LIBRARY JOB ANNOUNCEMENT January 24, 2013 The Johnson City Public Library Adult Services Department has an opening for a part-time professional librarian. Providing computer and informational/research assistance to the public are the main functions of this position. Additional responsibilities include involvement in the development of relevant and timely adult print and electronic media collections and participation in library programming. Other duties may be assigned. We are looking for an outgoing person with excellent communications skills who is able to interact professionally and effectively with the public. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to exceptional customer service and will work under the supervision of the Adult Services Manager. This is a part time position with no medical benefits and prorated vacation leave, sick leave, personal business leave and paid holidays. A Master’s Degree in Librarianship from an ALA accredited library school is required. Starting pay in this classification is $17.01 per hour. The typical schedule will be 28 hours per week. Evening and weekend work is required.
