Library Director Search at the Graves County Public Library

Library Director: Graves County Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, service oriented Library Director to provide leadership and oversee library operations. The library is located at 601 North 17th Street in Mayfield, KY, just off West Broadway about 2 miles from the downtown area. The library serves a population of 37,000, with 12 full and part-time staff, a collection of about 75,000 and an annual budget of approximately 1 million.

Duties: Position is responsible for planning and supervising the overall operation of the library, including collection development, staff, public relations, programming, bookmobile, fiscal and building management, and reports to the Library Board of Trustees.

 

Qualifications: Master’s degree is required and a Masters in Library Science (MLS) is preferred. Library experience is preferred with progressively responsible public library experience, a thorough understanding of library principles and procedures, supervisory skills and ability to communicate well with staff and the community.
