The Information Science/ Communications Specialist will provide technical guidance and expertise within computer-based systems related to the acquisition, processing, management and dissemination of scientific and technical information. Serve as liaison support to a national scientific and technical community. Job Requirements - Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate both verbally and in written format. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, syntax and spelling. - Excellent overall computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, OneNote and other MS Office applications. - Ability to proactively gather, analyze and manage data, and translate technical information to an audience-appropriate level. - Thorough knowledge of editorial and publication techniques, procedures and standards for print and web publishing operations. Demonstrated publication preparation ability in print and web formatting. - Self-motivated & professional with the ability to work independently, consistently meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality materials. Experience and ability to work as part of a diverse team. - Strong customer relationship skills. - This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy, which requires US Citizenship. Education - Requires a Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, technical writing, information/library science or other related field. An Information Science Master's degree preferred.
