Library Director - Crandall Public Library (Glens Falls, NY)

Become a vital part of providing Crandall Public Library
<http://www.crandalllibrary.org/> District residents with free access to
the world of ideas, information in varied formats and the creative
experience of an open and nonjudgmental environment. In achieving this
mission, the Library Board of Trustees seeks a visionary new leader-skilled
in directing a diverse team of talented professionals in interpreting and
implementing Board policy-and capable of setting and meeting goals and
achieving high standards. Crandall Public Library District is governed by a
15-member elected Board of Trustees and serves the 53,621 residents of the
Towns of Queensbury and Moreau and the City of Glens Falls. Operating
continuously since 1893, it is a strong regional example of
intergovernmental cooperation. It is also the Central Reference Library of
the Southern Adirondack Library System providing service to the residents of
Warren, Washington, Saratoga and Hamilton counties. Housed in a stunningly
renovated (2008), LEED certified Main Library in downtown Glens Falls, the
staff (34.2 FTEs) works within a $4.2 million budget to provide quality
services and programs to its communities. The Library loans more than
813,000 items annually and was visited 461,000 times in 2011. With a solid
financial base, a committed Library Board of Trustees, collaborative
programs and services such as early literacy and the unique Folklife Center,
cutting-edge technology and an active and engaged Friends organization-all
of the pieces are in place to achieve even greater levels of future
excellence.

Situated in the Hudson River Valley, the Crandall Public Library District
borders Warren and Saratoga counties in the Adirondack Foothills. The City
and environs offer a variety of cultural, educational, social and
recreational amenities-museums, galleries, festivals, theater, outdoor
sports and activities, concerts and good schools (including SUNY
Adirondack). Charming architecture and friendly people make the area a great
place to play, work and live. Additional information on the Library and the
