To All School Counselors and Mental Health Counselors (Tracy Horton, Secretary, Smoky Mountain Counseling Association) The Smoky Mountain Counseling Association (SMCA) is an association whose purpose is to unite in one organization all persons engaged or interested in any phase of counseling and developmental work in East Tennessee. Please join us for our next meeting on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. We will meet at Naples Italian Restaurant located at 5500 Kingston Pike, Knoxville. The meeting will be organized as follows: 5:30 – 6:30 dinner and business, 6:30 – 7:15 program. Our speaker for the evening is Captain Don Jones with the Knoxville Police Department. He is the West District Patrol Commander and, in reflection of recent acts of violent rampage in our society, will speak to us on the prevalence of mental illness in repeat criminal offenders.
