The Department of Library and Information Studies (LIS) in conjunction with the Department of Learning and Instruction (LAI) at the University at Buffalo (UB) seeks an outstanding tenure-track associate or assistant professor for our Education Informatics program that prepares its graduates for the information and education challenges of the 21st century. The successful applicant will join our faculty in the Fall 2013.
 
Responsibilities:
• Maintain an active and productive research agenda
• Teach two courses per semester to masters and doctoral students
• Obtain external funding
• Advise masters and doctoral students
 
Qualifications:
• PhD or EdD by the start date in Education Informatics/Learning Analytics or a related field
• Record of / potential for scholarship  
 
Preferred Qualifications:
• Record of / potential for obtaining external funding
• University teaching experience
• Experience advising students in post-secondary institutions
• Research interests in at least one of the following areas:
o Information Systems and Technology
o Science of Learning, Instruction and Assessment
o Information Organization and Analysis (e.g., internet and social media)
o Information seeking behavior and use by teachers, students, administrators, and policy makers
