Vivian Jacobs died a few days ago in an assisted-care facility in Houston, Texas. She moved there about five years ago to be near her children. Her husband Sheldon died about three months ago. Vivian was a longstanding and active member of the East Tennessee Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication. She served as the Chapter's Treasurer for several years and managed several committees, including the Technical Publications and Art Competition. She served on the International Board of Directors of STC as Secretary for two terms. She was elected as an Associate Fellow and then Fellow of the Society. She will be buried at the Oak Ridge Memorial Gardens on Bethel Valley Road near the Solway Bridge on Sunday, January 13, at 12:00 noon. All are welcome. Her obituary from The Oak Ridger is attached.
