Hello canoers and hikers,

I am an AmeriCorps member with Knox County Solid Waste and am recruiting volunteers for an E-Waste recycling event on Saturday, January 12th, 2013. I was given your contact information, as you have helped recruit volunteers in the past. The E-Waste recycling event provides the community with an opportunity to recycle electronic materials for free. This event makes electronic waste recycling extremely easy for participants, they simply drive through and drop off the materials they wish to recycle. Since the first E-waste recycling event began in Knoxville 12 years ago, over 800 tons of electronic material has been collected and recycled.

However, this event could not be possible without the help of volunteers. Volunteers are needed to unload the electronic waste from the participants' vehicles. The event will take place at Chilhowee Park, 3301 E Magnolia Ave, from 9am-3pm, rain, snow, or shine. There are several different shifts available for volunteers to sign up for beginning at 8:30 am and ending at 4:00 pm. Lunch (pizza) will be provided for volunteers who help four hours or more. As the event is in January, hot chocolate will be provided and volunteers are encouraged to bundle up in their winter's warmest.

Please email me back if you think you can help out. I have attached a sign up and flyer for the event.

For more information on the event, you can visit last year's website at http://www.plugintoyourcommunity.info/ Please contact me with any questions, suggestions or concerns. Thank you so much for your help in recruiting much needed volunteers.

Warm regards,
