Performance Review training

It's that time of year ... when performance reviews should be priority! Annual performance reviews allow UT staff and supervisors the opportunity to discuss job performance, set professional development goals, establish objectives for contributing to the department's mission, and discuss expectations and accomplishments.

Performance review summary forms are due between January 1, 2013 and March 31, 2013.

It is recommended that supervisors complete performance review training to familiarize themselves with the performance review process. We're offering training in the Knoxville area on the following dates:

December 12, 1:30-3:00 - Shiloh Room, University Center
January 30, 9:00-10:30 - Shiloh room, University Center
February 19, 9:00-10:30 - 221 University Center
March 6, 1:30-3:00 - Shiloh Room, University Center

Registration for the Knoxville-area training is available on the EOD website or by phone at (865) 974-6657. Please contact your campus HR office for training at your location.

Online training on performance reviews is also available on the web.

Good luck with your 2012 performance reviews!

Congratulations to our recent graduates of the Customer Service certification! On October 31, 2012, we honored 34 employees who completed the certification over the past year. The 32-hour certification consists of 11 courses that deal with various customer service topics. We hope the interaction and knowledge presented in this certification proves to be valuable during day-to-day working relationships.

During the celebration, our graduates mentioned some of the most important themes that they have taken from the certification so far:

  • The importance of good attitude and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding different types of customers and their needs
  • Using positivity to deal with difficult situations

Thank you to everyone who has shown support for this certification. Please encourage your colleagues to sign up!

Our next prerequisite course to the certification, Customer Service 101, will take place January 23, 8:30-11:30. More Customer Service classes will be available for registration starting in January.
